Semen Inventory on the Fly

ENTERING SEMEN INVENTORY ON THE FLY 

At the time of servicing an animal you DO NOT have to have the semen initialized in Semen Inventory.

When you are In the service screen :

1. Enter the name of bull used for the service by typing the sire's name in the box and pressing the tab key or highlight name and double click your mouse
2. Enter the semen freeze or batch number used 
3. Enter the number of doses of semen administered
4. Select Heat status from pull-down menu
5. Select hormones (if used) from the pull-down menu
6. Select technician from the pull-down menu
7. Select the herd group from the pull-down menu if the animal is moved to a different group
8. Enter comment if applicable 
9. Save the data by clicking on save button (2nd icon from left) or press F9 to save

A message box will appear :

Respond with Yes to have the service data filed for the animal and the semen will automatically be added to the semen inventory.

NOTE: if you do not want to record the semen freeze date or batch number, then remove the number of doses or change it to zero and then the semen inventory message will not come up.
