Restoring Herd Backup From Floppy

RESTORING BACKUP OF HERD DATA FROM FLOPPY

When you are doing a restore of VAMPP data, the restore feature will delete all previously entered data and replace it with the data that is in the back up file. If you are sure click Yes.

To restore the herd data from the diskette onto the computer:

1. Click on the VAMPP menu File: Restore
2. Insert the backup diskette into the appropriate drive
3. Click on the look in box to change it to appropriate diskette drive
4. Highlight the file name that appears in the box 
5. Click on Open
6. The herd data will be restored into the computer 
7. If it does now show your farm name in the very top left side of the screen Click on File: Open 
8. The option to open the farm will appear and highlight the farm you restored. 
9. You are now in the herd

You must do an integrity check of your data under File, utilities, integrity check before you use the data. This is done under File, utilities, integrity check, Click the select all button at the bottom left, click OK.

NOTE: The top left corner of the VAMPP screen displays VAMPP - Farm Name to identify which herd you are in. If you are not in a herd it will only say VAMPP in the top left hand corner and most of the menu options will be deactivated.
